MARD colors and bead usage
The editor includes the MARD Basic 221 and Complete 291 color palettes. Image conversion matches the built-in palette; you can then adjust individual color codes.
How many colors should I use?
Fewer colors usually produce a simpler design with fewer supplies. More colors preserve additional shades. Review a small preview and refine the pattern using colors you have available.
How is usage counted?
The editor counts each color across layers marked for inclusion in usage. Packs are calculated by dividing the bead count by beads per pack and rounding up. For example, 650 beads with 500 beads per pack requires an estimated 2 packs. Included overlapping layers are counted separately; public marketplace totals count the visible composite image.
Why do physical beads look different?
Screens, lighting, and manufacturing batches affect appearance. Palette matching is a creative aid, not a guarantee of an exact physical color match. Check the actual brand codes and beads.
Can I view a shared pattern’s colors?
Previews and basic information are public. Sign in to see detailed color counts, open the pattern in the editor, or download JSON. Local editor exports do not require signing in.
